Ann Stokes, 68 of The Woodlands, Texas passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2012 after a courageous three year battle with breast cancer. Ann was born on October 18, 1943 in Galveston, Texas. She attended Southwestern University and upon graduation married her loving sweetheart William P. Stokes on January 23, 1965.

Ann was an amazing child of God who spent her life loving, giving and serving others. She had many interests and a wide circle of friends. She was involved in many endeavors including bible studies, golf, master gardeners, book club, church, Sunday school, prayer groups, working out, and while living in Plano, Texas, was instrumental in the creation of the Plano Crisis Center. As an instrument of God, she served as a role model and influenced lives to all who knew her.

Ann was known as "Gramster" to her grandchildren and would often be caught hula-hooping or standing on her head playing with the kids. She had such a young spirit and was filled with laughter and fun.

Ann lived a full and fruitful life and one that is admired by many and will be missed by all.

Ann is preceded in death by her father, Francis T. Wadsworth. She is survived by her husband, William P. Stokes, Jr., son William P. Stokes, III and daughter-in-law Lisa Stokes of Plano, daughter Dr. Katherine Stokes Hamilton and son-in-law Dr. William P. Hamilton, III of Nashville, grandchildren Ashlynn, Parker, Joe, and Sara, mother Marian S. Wadsworth, brother W. Matt Wadsworth and sister-in-law Becky Wadsworth, brother Thomas Wadsworth and sister-in-law Deborah Wadsworth all in The Woodlands.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, TX.
