Clara "Kate" Schoenemann passed away May 10, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. She had lived 102 wonderful years. Born Clara Natalie Nowak on December 20, 1909 in Brenham Texas, she was the second oldest of six siblings and she was raised in the Brenham / Chapel Hill area. In 1929 Kate married Presly Schoenemann Sr. They moved to Katy, Texas in 1945 when Mr. Schoenemann took a job as an auto mechanic for Miller Motor Company. She resided in Katy until 2011. Kate and Presly had three children, Dorothy Schoenemann Morris of Ft Worth, Texas, Barbara Schoenemann Blanton of Conroe, Texas, and Presly Schoenemann Jr. of Lafayette, Louisiana. Mrs. Schoenemann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Presly Schoenemann Sr., her first daughter Dorothy Lee Schoenemann Morris and her son-in-law Don Blanton. Clara is survived by her only remaining sibling, Max Nowak of Jerseyville, Illinois, her daughter Barbara and son Presley Jr. as well as eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Clara loved her family dearly and treasured attending family gatherings and events. She and Presly Sr. were founding members of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Katy. Clara always looked forward to her opportunities to be with her Happy Heart friends at St. Bart's. Clara's special angel friends ("Communion Ladies" as she called them) were Dorrie Sammon from St. Bartholomew and Margaret Madeley from Sacred Heart in Conroe. Although she lived by herself for years after the passing of her husband, in the last year and a half as life became harder for Clara she was blessed to have four wonderful caregivers...Rose and Ann in Katy, along with Vicki and Francis in Conroe.

Clara "Kate" Schoenemann was a very strong willed woman who believed in hard work. She amazed her family with her stamina, resilience and tenacity and they have all learned from her determination to the very end. Grannie will be missed by all.
