Clay Willis Martin, 59, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2016. Clay was born in Conroe, Texas on November 12, 1956 to I. L. (Pete) and Shirley Martin. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery, Texas.

Clay graduated from Montgomery High School in 1975. He was the self-employed owner of Martin Wood Company, and in his free time, he loved to spend time outdoors treasure hunting and gardening. He was also an avid Astros fan. He was well-versed in the history of Montgomery County and enjoyed lively conversation with others on this subject. He most recently enjoyed spending time with his new grandson and was a very proud Papa.

Clay was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother; his children Haily Martin and Thomas and William Niven; grandson Robert Martin; sister Dian (Bruce) Rich; brothers Ike Martin and Russell (Jeanne) Martin and multiple loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private funeral service is pending.
