Col. (Ret.) William H. Gibson celebrated a full glorious life of 85 years, 57 of those with the love of his life, Gerry. Col. Gibson served 22 years in the Air Force beginning in 1950, where he served as a flight navigator, advanced single observer, Air Force Academy flight navigational instructor, astronomy and physics instructor and command staff briefer at the Pentagon. He served one air combat tour in Korea, flying over 40 missions. Col. Gibson received numerous medals and commendations, as well as receiving his BS in business from University of Georgia and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and an Eagle Scout. He retired in 1972 and began a carrier as a Petroleum Engineer with Mitchell Energy Corp., retiring in 1985. After fully retiring he was then able to thoroughly enjoy his role as husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. He is survived by his loving wife, Gerry; children, Andy, Mike and wife Chris, Elaine, Cathy and Billy and wife Rosanna, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his sister, Bayne Kelley. Family to receive friends 10 am, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3901 S. Panther Creek Dr. The Woodlands, TX, with funeral service to begin at 11 am. Graveside service to be held 2:15 pm at HoustonNationalCemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr.Houston, TX.
