Colton Alderson, our amazing and loving child, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2013 in Houston at the age of 13 after a lifelong, courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched throughout his short, yet very memorable life. He was born on February 14, 2000 in Kingwood, Texas to Jimmy Alderson and Jennifer McCarty.

Colton's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him. Colton was a brilliant thinker and enjoyed sharing his love of music with family and friends and had a quick wit about him.

Although Colton's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and the courage of a Lion. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.

He is survived by his loving family: his Daddy, Jimmy; Momma, Julia; his Mother, Jennifer McCarty and Ken Marquis; Mom, Tracy Traylor; brothers and sisters, Seth Elkins, Edie McCarty, Emmie McCarty, Savannah Ware, Katie Ware and Garrett Marquis; grandparents, Wayne Acuff and Kathy, Linda Showmaker, Robert Powell and Patsy, Paulett Traylor, Rose (Grandma) Bisso and Kay Doane; Great grandparents, Utah and Arizona Acuff and Guy and Bobbie Powell; aunts and uncles, Scott and Laura Snyder, Travis and Amanda Traylor, Aimee Combs, Jessie Acuff, Gregg and Beverly Bisso, Gail and Kenny Byers and Mike Muratorri; great aunt, Claudia Lamb; cousins, Ethan, Aaron and Adam Snyder, Kolby Hughes, Kail Rose Traylor and Bubby and Zach Combs; his precious cat, Buddy; numerous other dear relatives and caring friends also survive.

Colton will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. With Colton's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Colton will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the North Montgomery County Community Center in Willis, TX. For those attending; Please wear a blue shirt and no black attire.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Colton's honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be greatly appreciated at .
