Connie M. Leal of Shenandoah, Texas was called home to her Maker on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Connie was born December 17, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Connie is predeceased by her parents Max and Otila Morales and her brother Max. Connie is survived by her husband of nearly fifty years, Jesse S. Leal and her three children, Sheryl Leal Rowe and husband Kevin and Kenneth Leal and wife Tammie, both of Spring, Texas and Jason Leal of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Kenneth Leal Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Abigail Rowe and Carlos Leal both of Spring, Texas.

Connie grew up in Corpus Christi and spent most of her life going to Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church. It was there that she had her first training in choir which led to her singing at Roy Miller High School. Connie was in the Allstate Choir for three years; her beautiful singing voice led her to a full scholarship at Del Mar College. Connie moved to Houston after her marriage on August 31, 1963. Connie worked for the American Red Cross in Houston until she bought The Rain Forest Florist in Spring, Texas which she owned for 18 years.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 1610 Comanche St., Corpus Christi Texas 78401 on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Anita and John Valles officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your in her memory.
