Curtis Fredrick Chance, came into this world on December 31, 1924 to Roy and Grace Waller, and departed it on June 25, 2014 at the age of 89 in his home in Conroe, Texas where he resided with the love of his life, Irene Chance for 62 years.

Curtis and Irene Chance met on the school bus when they where kids. They were both student body council members at Conroe High School. Curtis had a career as a surveyor most of his life and loved the outdoors. Anyone that knew Curtis enjoyed his fascinating stories and rarely had to hear the same one twice. His stories were a true testament of his historical knowledge and love of our area.

Curtis also served honorably in the military during World II. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Chance, one daughter Sandra Chance, brother Harry Chance, wonderful grandchildren Mark and Mary Conner, Candace Conner, Chanin and Donnie Holcomb, niece and nephews Dewey Matthews, George and Sharon Marshall, Curtis Matthews and wife Phyllis Matthews and 12 great grandchildren. A private family service was held at Cashner Funeral Home on June 27th at 10 am.
