Dallas Lewis, age 82, entered this world on August 20, 1931, and left for his eternal home on October 2, 2013. Born in Jackson County, Arkansas to Ralph and Dorothy Lewis, Dallas was the eldest of 5 boys. He graduated from Fuller High in Sweet Home, Arkansas in 1948 and married Doris Nichols on April 9, 1950. Together they raised 6 children in 5 different states before settling in Texas in 1967. Dallas was a businessman and an entrepreneur, with careers in Venetian blind sales, automotive and truck air conditioning, and hotel construction. He was also devoted to God, serving in his church and supporting missions work both locally and internationally. Dallas is preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael David Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Doris Lewis, and children Linda Rowlett of The Woodlands, TX; Cheryl & husband Ernie Guillory of Mt Vernon, WA; Philip Lewis & partner Joyce Phillips of Conroe, TX; Diane & husband Chuck Isler of San Antonio, TX; and Leanne Lewis Gomez of College Station, TX. In addition, Dallas leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. The Celebration of Life Service for Dallas will be held on Saturday, October 26, 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Groceville, Texas, 19256 FM 1484 Rd, Conroe, TX 77303.
