Dan Case Obituary

Dan H. Case, 80, of Montgomery TX passed away at home peacefully on October 15, 2013. He was born January 26, 1933 in Hendersonville, N.C. Dan graduated from Blue Ridge School for Boys in 1952 and attended Furman University on a football scholarship. Love proved too strong a draw and he followed his high school sweetheart Mary Pat Anthony to New York where they were married in 1954.

Dan was a kind and loving husband and father survived by his devoted wife Mary Pat Case of 59 years and 3 children Allen Case and wife Cindy Simpson Case, Michael Case, and Kelly Kelly-Jones and husband Mark Jones; and four grandchildren Donnie, Sean Michael, Reese and Caleb Kelly.

While living in New York, Dan began his career in the airline industry with National Airlines/Pan American World Airways. In 1972 Dan and Mary Pat relocated with their three children to the then developing Woodlands TX area settling in Shenandoah where he also served on the Shenandoah City Council. Dan was very active in his community supporting youth organizations: Northwest Aquatic League, Shenandoah Sharks Swim Team, and helped to expand the Oak Ridge North Little League Association. He was committed to making a difference in children's lives and positively affecting the community around him.

The family is giving special thanks to Home Instead Senior Care and caretakers Tomeka Calvin, Wilbert Lovelady, George Goudeau, Chi Chi Canapi and Cindy Ally for their many hours of loving, dedicated and caring service.

Memorial services will be held Friday October 18th at 11:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Episcopal Church, 1803 Highland Hollow Dr. Conroe TX 77034.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to: Alzheimer's Association 2242 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston TX 77030-2008 in memory of Dan Case.

I was a travel
agent from 1967-1996 which at a time your husband was with National and after the merger with Pan Am. I believe I had the pleasure of meeting him with the airlines cocktail parties etc. I went on several National Airlines Fam and also with Pan American . When I saw the picture in the chronicle I knew he looked familiar. Many sympathy to the family Monique Charrin

I pray that you find peace and understanding. Mr. Dan is in a far better place. He will have no more pain or suffering. No more worries or troubles for he is in the presence of our Lord.

While I only met him a couple if times I'll never forget him telling me repeatedly not to call him Mr. Case but to call him Dan. We settled on Mr. Dan.

God Speed Mr. Dan.

It has been many years since I had seen Dan. I was saddened to hear that he had passed. I also was a part of the airline family and worked part-time for Dan at Pan Am many, many years ago. He was a kind and caring person. I felt fortunate to have known him. May God Bless his family, Dan has been blessed already. Peace and love.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. My dad (Dan Wall) and Mr. Case worked together at Pan Am. He was highly regarded at Pan Am. I worked part time at Pan Am when going to school. I also remember running into him several times when I was traveling to Angola & he was at World Airways. I guess he and my dad can hang out together a reminiscence about the ole Pan Am days. May your wonderful memories of him bring you comfort.
