Funeral services for Darrell Ocker will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 12:30pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Steve Yates presiding. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 11:30am. Darrell Ocker was born November 29, 1940 in Rosebud, Texas to Walter and Annie Ocker and passed away February 24, 2014, in Conroe, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Darrell graduated Robert E. Lee High School in 1959, where he starred in basketball and track. He accepted a scholarship to McNeese State University in Basketball, where he played for one year. He then entered Texas A&M and worked his way through college by working concessions at the G. Rollie White Coliseum. In 1965, Darrell graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Ag Economics. Darrell was a former Regional Manager of the Southeast Division of Northrup King Seed Co. Darrell was a master gardener and avid outdoorsman. He also served as a former Montgomery County Precinct Chairman and loved watching politics on Fox News. Darrell was a former member of the Trike Riders Int'l and the American Trike Riders. He loved motorcycling and triking with his wife and friends. Darrell was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and a member of Conroe Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends playing cards and "42". Darrell is survived by his high school sweetheart and the love of his life for the past 53 years, Carrie Ocker; his daughters, Dorothy "Dodie" Stillman and husband Kevin, Vickie Hutchins and husband Kam and Katherine Stone and husband Chris; sister, Ann Nell Bilnoski; brothers, Joe Ray Ocker and Donald Lee Ocker; grandchildren, Cody Stillman, Devin Stillman, Harrison Hutchins, Hannah Hutchins, Alexandra "Alex" Stone and Riley Stone; and special close friends, Don Childress and LaVon and Janie Smith; as well as numerous other relatives and friends also surive. Pallbearers will be, Kevin Stillman, Kam Hutchins, Chris Stone, Cody Stillman, Mel Ocker, Jerry Ocker, Teddy Troutman and Bobby Maxey and honorary pallbearer, Harrison Hutchins.
