Dave Hayes, 72, of Conroe, went to his eternal home on Friday, August 17, 2012. Dave was born on December 4, 1939 and passed away at his home in Conroe surrounded by his loving family. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Thelma Hayes and his brothers, Carroll, Edward (Bug), R.A., and Charles.

He is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 50 years and 10 months, his children Lee and Leslie Hayes of Abilene, Trey and Renea Morte of Conroe and Brad and Belinda Hayes of Littleton, Colorado. Dave was the beloved Papaw of Carter, Ali, Dayle and Ever Hayes, Randi, Matthew, Trevor and Madison Morte, Syvannah, Jaycie and Caleb Hayes. Also surviving are his sister Evelyn Pringle, numerous family members and many close friends.

Dave was a loving father and grandfather and spent time teaching his children and grandchildren to ride a bike, bait a hook, drive a stick-shift, shoot a basket and love the Lord.

Dave worked for 38 years for the US Postal Service. He has stayed busy in retirement loving his grandchildren, his birds, his tractor and his many friends as well as serving the Lord at the Conroe Church of Christ, where he will be sorely missed.
