On September 1, 2015 after a lengthy illness, beloved husband, father, son, and brother David D. Helterbran went to be with the Lord. He was a man of great integrity and will be dearly missed by many but will forever live on in our hearts. David was born on May 24, 1949 in Belfry, KY to Robert E. & Lola Helterbran. Since Dave's father was in the military the family moved often including a stint in Japan. Finally in his junior high years his family settled in Mineral Wells, TX and he graduated from Mineral Wells High School. He attended both Texas Tech and East Texas State Universities before embarking on a career in the glass and glazing industry. In 1983 he started his own manufactures rep company, Helterbran Associates, Inc. In 2015 he started a new manufacturers rep company called Texas Glazing Solutions, Inc., partnering with daughter and son-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan, his daughters Stefanie Cawood and Lindsay Price, his sons-in-law Shane Cawood and Dustin Price, granddaughter Kendall Cawood, and grandsons David & Joshua Cawood. Also surviving him are his mother Lola Helterbran, brothers Bob & Cliff Helterbran, sister Jo Ann Helterbran-Peaden, sister-in-law Dinah Turrin, brother-in-law John Turrin, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on September 12 at 11:00am at Windwood Presbyterian Church, 10555 Spring Cypress Rd., Houston, TX 77070. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Windwood Youth Ministries or to: http://www.zeroprostatecancerrun. org/austin/linzstar13, an organization which raises money for prostate cancer research.
