David S. Sieber, 72, of Mifflintown, formerly of Texas, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born June 28, 1944, in Mifflin, he was a son of the late I. Clyde and Marion (Smith) Sieber.

He is survived by four children, David Brown and wife, Dianne, of Mifflintown, Dana Swartwood and husband, Cliff, of Oakland Mills, Doug Sieber and wife, Veronica, of Forney, Texas, and Deani Longwell of Montgomery, Texas, four siblings, Mary Jack and husband, Foster, of Milton, Clyde Sieber and wife, Peg, of Mifflin, Louise Campbell and husband, George, of Port Royal, and Jan Wilson and husband, Tim, of Mifflin, seven grandchildren, Zach Brown, Ryan Swartwood and wife, Racheal, Danielle Longwell, Tyler Brown, Taylor Sieber, Jason Longwell, and Matthew Sieber, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Sieber.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Dave retired as a truck driver for Waste Management in Conroe, Texas in 2008 and was currently working as a security guard at Empire Kosher Poultry, Mifflintown.

He enjoyed camping, woodworking, and working outside in his yard.

His funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Stephanie Rupert officiating. Interment will follow in East Waterford Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata Co. Veterans Council.

Although there will be no viewing, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
