Dean Raymond Scudder, age 66, passed away peacefully on April 2nd at his home in Conroe, TX, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with a recurrence of lymphoma. He was a 1964 graduate of Streator High School, where he excelled in baseball and football and was a member of the SHS Hall of Fame Golf Team. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in marketing. He spent most of his career in emergency medicine management and was currently employed by Medical Management Professionals. Dean married Joi Krelle in 1988 and they were blessed with a daughter, Kelsey Scudder. Dean and Joi had a wonderful marriage in which they shared their love of the game of golf and would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2013. Dean is survived by his beloved wife and daughter of Conroe, a sister, Jane Berry of Streator, IL, father-in-law James Krelle of Las Vegas, NV, brother-in-law James Krelle Jr. and his wife Cindy of Batavia, IL, sister-in-law Jan Krelle of Santa Monica, CA, aunt Betty Copp of Peoria, IL, four nieces and four nephews, seven great-nieces and five great-nephews, many cousins and friends, and his faithful "puppa" Trixie. He fought against lymphoma and MDS and can finally rest. The family encourages friends to donate blood and platelets to help others try to overcome this terrible disease. Dean was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He loved his family, his dog, and the game of golf. He was a long time past member of Willow Creek Golf Club and a current member of Grand Pines Golf Club at Bentwater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation at wgaesf.org.
