BURKETT, Diane Margaret, 63, passed away peacefully in her home in The Woodlands, Texas, January 6 after bravely fighting cancer for four years. She was a devout Catholic and regularly attended Mass at St. Simon and Jude. Her enthusiasm for life endeared her to all who knew her. She was loving, generous and happiest with a grandbaby on her hip and her dogs at her feet. To each of her grandchildren she was known as "my MeeMee". She was loved by all and will be missed forever. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to The Woodlands in 1992, was a former airline employee and traveled to many countries throughout the world before building her treasured family life. She is survived by her devoted husband of forty years, James Burkett, and loving children Melissa (Brett) Bulcroft and Greg (Amanda) Burkett, and five grandchildren: Caitlin, Jacob, Matthew, Benjamin and Cameron Elizabeth. Also survived by brothers Ronald (JoAnn), Harry Jr. and David (Linda) Steinriede, and sisters, Patricia (Tom) Williams, Pamela Nakaso and Linda (Ken) Ruppert, and by mother-in-law Anita and sister-in-law Nancy as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Marcella and Harry Steinriede and brother William. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 10am at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 26777 Glen Loch The Woodlands, Texas 77380. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to .
