On July 16, 2014, Dick Rogers of Willis, Texas, passed through this life touching many lives along the way with his love, support and dedication. Dick was born April 29, 1930, in Three Sands, Oklahoma, to B.C. and Grace Bookout Rogers. He was a dedicated American serving his country during the Korean War and retired from the US Army Reserves as a Major.

Dick attended Tonkawa High School, Northern Oklahoma College, and Oklahoma State University.

Dick retired from Conoco after many years of service. During that time he had the opportunity to live and work in Houston, Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Dubai.

Dick served his community through many avenues: Toys for Tots, The Veterans Administration, and orphan homes. He served as a board member of the Point Aquarius Municipal Utility District in Willis, Texas.

Dick is preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother, Mike Rogers and his son, Chuck LeRibeus. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Nikki Rogers, his brother Jack (Sondra) Rogers and his sisters Jean Moreland and Kay Rogers. He is survived by his children, Diana (Mark) Miller of Norman, Oklahoma, Tom (Krista) Rogers of Richmond, Texas, Shelley Vargo of Spring, Texas, Sam LeRibeus of Angleton, Texas, and Rhonda (Myron) LeRibeus - Scoggins of Magnolia, Texas. Dick is also survived by his grandchildren who fondly called him Papaw: Carrie Wittmer, Matt (Brianne) Wittmer, Ross (Stacy) Miller, Miranda (Cody) Hines, Albert Miller, Brooke (Chris) Reyes, Jennifer (Jason) Shaver, Bryson (Kristin) LeRibeus, Blake (Elyse) LeRibeus, Kristofer (Alli) LeRibeus, Cheree (Jeff) Kennedy, Chad Vargo, and Destiny LeRibeus. He also is survived by 14 great grandchildren and one expected to arrive in August, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons - Matt Wittmer, Ross Miller, Albert Miller, Bryson LeRibeus, Blake LeRibeus, Kristofer LeRibeus, and Chad Vargo.

Family will receive guests at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097 W., Willis, Texas 77318 on Friday, July 18, 2014 between 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 4:00pm with Bob Hurd, Minister of the Willis Church of Christ, officiating. Burial services will be held at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
