Dollie Sloane Anderson, a longtime resident of Conroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospital. She was the daughter of Morrise H. Sloane, Sr. and Jennie Arnaud Sloane and the youngest of three children.

Dollie loved gardening and earned the designation of Master Gardener through the AgriLIFE Extension of Texas A&M University. She devoted many hours as a volunteer at the Montgomery County AgriLIFE Extension Office. Together with Landscape Architect, Mary Lenzi, Dollie transformed the grounds of her home, Bocage, into an oasis complete with Koi ponds and a Wildlife Habitat certified by the National Wildlife Foundation.

The greatest pleasure of Dollie's life, however, was the time spent with her family. The wife of Alfred G. Anderson, they were the parents of four children, Sharon Anderson, Jenny Anderson Bennett, Steven Anderson, and Alfred (Buck) Anderson.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Morrise H. Sloane, Jr., grandson Justin Bennett, son-in-law Rodney Bennett; Dollie is survived by her husband, her children, brother Milton W. Sloane and wife Kay (her best friend) of Globe, AZ, grandson Kyle Bennett and his wife Christine, great grandson Jasper Bennett, many nieces, nephews, and other family members and her loyal companion Maddie, her Yorkshire Terrier.

A private memorial will be held at a future date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lyme Warriors, an organization working to bring awareness and support in the fight against Lyme disease. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dollie's name to lymewarrior.us or to Memory Park in Montomgery through The Rotary Club of Lake Conroe Foundation, P O Box 1252 Montgomery, TX 77356 or by visiting their website at lakeconroerotary.org
