Donald Hicks Dilmore Sr. passed away at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 14. A Colorado native and Texan for over 55 years, Don served in the church most of his life and was ordained as a pastor in 1993. He served his country with the US Merchant Marines during WWII and went on to graduate from Franklin College, Franklin, IN. He authored seven books and many articles for Christian magazines and he was a leader in the life insurance and real estate industries.

Don is survived by his wife Marie of 63 years; his son Don, married to Miriam; his daughters Patricia, Pam, and Helen; as well as seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Bob (wife Teresa) and Gordon (wife Sue) - his eldest brother Hermon preceded him in death. He was a thoughtful and concerned husband and father who is greatly missed.

A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, November 16th at the Montgomery United Methodist Church at 2 PM. You are invited to leave a written condolence on the website of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis at www.shmfh.com.
