Donna Ruth Wood was born in Conroe (Beach), Texas on November 13, 1933. She entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father April 25, 2014. Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had always spoke with joy in growing up with her parents and siblings in the Beach community just east of Conroe. Donna was an excellent cook and homemaker and always enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. There was always beans in the pot and coffee in a cup. She has employed with the Conroe School District as a school cafeteria cook at Travis Junior High School from 1975 until 1983. She always did her best to provide for the needs and nutrition of the school children. Donna is also assisted her husband in their businesses of mobilecafe, beverage store and even snow cone stands. She was an fanatical Conroe Tiger Football Team supporter and was sure to tune her radio in every Friday night. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Conroe, Texas, where she was baptized in the living water. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ethel Burk Traylor, and her husband Alton Lee Wood. Donna is survived by her sons Melvin Wood and Joe Dan Wood, step-daughters Dianne Johnson and Patty Zetak. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melody Jo Wood, Leah Johnson, Wes Ven Johnson and his wife Savin, Tommy Heuermann and his wife Anna. She is survived by her sister Irene Chance, niece Sandy Conner, nephew and devoted son on call Mark Conner and his wife Mary. Donna is also survived by numerous other family members and friends she has lovingly influenced in their lives. Visitation will be Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Cashner Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Graveside Service will be in the Garden Park Cemetery on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 11am with Dennis Heuermann as minister. There will be a celebration of life and a going home party after the service where all are invited. That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, " Let us go over to the other side."
