Doris Browning of Willis, Texas passed away October 6, 2011. Doris was born October 6 1938 in Plantersville, Texas to Leslie and Clora Fleming. Doris was employed by Krogers in Conroe for 14 years, Doris was involved in the WYAA Willis Youth Athletic Association for over 20 years. She received a certificate of Merit from the City of Willis in recognition for her outstanding contributions and unwavering devotion and dedication to the youth of Willis through her untiring efforts and service to the Willis Youth Athletic Association, an agency she has served selflessly as her effort to add to the betterment of youth living in Willis. Doris is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Browning; parents: Leslie and Clora Fleming; son: Leslie Carlisle Nickerson Jr.; grandson: Jonas James Browning; and sister: Faye Hirsch. Doris is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Linville and husband Scott, and Charlotte Capps; son: Richard Lance Browning; grandchildren: Amber Pitcock Sullivent, Ricci Pitcock Lucas, Hillary Brown, Jay Allen Brown, Kristin Capps Segura, Kenneth Capps, Collin Browning, Mason Browning, Jade Browning and Maralynn Browning; several great grandchildren; sister: Bettye Bingham and husband Don, and Joyce Powers; brother: Malcolm Fleming and wife Molly; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00pm Sunday at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The funeral will be 10:00am Monday at Metcalf Funeral Chapel. The interment will follow in Willis City Cemetery.
