Doris Mae Moore Johnson born June 6, 1938, in North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2013, at her home in Willis, Texas. She was loved by so many people including family and friends. She always loved people and loved serving people and especially serving her Lord and Savior. She never met a stranger and always left an impact on everyone's life and heart. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She was the rock of our family and now will be our guardian angel. She will be missed dearly by all of us. Doris is survived by her four children, Susan Kerr of Willis, Texas, Johnny Newton and wife Wanda of Cleveland, Texas, Barbara Gussman and husband Tony of Tampa, Florida, and Wayne Newton and wife Liz of North Carolina. She had thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, two sisters and one brother in North Carolina. Visitation will occur on August 8, 2013, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Earthman Rest Heaven Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. Memorial Service will be held at Earthman Rest Heaven Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 11:00 am with Pastor Ron Ellis officiating services. Immediately following graveside service you are invited to a reception at Earthman Rest Heaven Funeral Home located 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
