Dorothy Mae Sims McCants of La Porte,TX formally of Conroe,TX died January 11, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Latexo, TX, April 26, 1933 to Robert Jackson Sims and Irene Black Sims. She lived in the Cleveland/ Conroe area most of her life. She loved the country life, her favorite job was at the Boot Barn in Cleveland. She loved horses and trail rides, especially the Spanish Trail Ride, bingo with her family and friends, singing to her gospel cd's, and going to church with her friends at West Conroe Baptist Church.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam McCants, her daughter Cynthia Ann Yocum Red, her brother Billy Jack Sims, and half brothers and sisters; Garland, Emma Irene, Ollie Lorene, Buster, Clifford, Jewel, Louise, Merkie, JC, Lovie, Robert and baby twin boys.

She leaves to cherish her memory her twin sister Rex Faye Bell, her granddaughters Cristyan Bowen, Kelly and Kyle Berry, her great grandchildren Dusty Berry and Cierra Berry, her great great granddaughter Kennedy Grace Mainer, and half sisters Gladys and Bobbie, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothy will be buried at Latexo Cemetary with graveside services.
