Dorothy Marie Rutledge Shaw was born in Hallettsville, Texas on August 21, 1930 to Henry and Mary Hargraves Rutledge, and went to her heavenly home October 9, 2017 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 87. She completed her undergraduate work at Lamar University and received her masters' degree from Sam Houston State University. She retired from the Spring ISD after 35 years of teaching English. She was a member of First Baptist Conroe Church for over 65 years and sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling, camping, sowing, Aggie football and cooking. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Homer Lee Shaw in 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Trisha Haydon of Houston, Texas; son, Todd Shaw and Tracy of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Jane Enloe and Richard Odette of Tyler, Texas and grandchildren, Jennifer Haydon of Houston, Texas and Parker Shaw of Georgetown, Texas. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 6-8pm. The Celebration of Life Service will be in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2pm.
