Dottie Oliver, 73, of Salado, TX, passed away October 13, 2013 from her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born July 24, 1940, in Houston, TX to Curtis and Sylvia Dugas, Dottie graduated from SnyderHigh School and attended the University of North Texas, in Denton, where she studied Elementary Education and met her husband, Joe Oliver. They were married July 23, 1960, recently celebrating 53 years. Dottie gave birth to their only child, Joanna, on December 17, 1975.

Dottie's zest for life, including her immense love for others and yearning to give of herself, was showcased through her charity and philanthropic works over the years. Her quick wit and infectious laughter won the hearts of everyone who met her. As a member of Conroe Service League, Catholic Teresian Community, Garden Club, Ladies Auxiliary, Salado Mentor Program, Dottie relentlessly shared her passion to help others and foster love through personal relationships. The prayers of family, friends, and numerous supporters, accompanied with her strong will to live, continued to provide Dottie with great strength.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Joanna Oliver of College Station, TX; 2 sisters, Jane (Devane) Jones of Odessa, TX, and Janet (Richard) Hayes of Comanche, TX; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Sylvia Dugas; niece, Deanna Douglas; nephew, Steven Hayes, Sr.; and great-niece, Alyssa Douglas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 pm Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 210 E. 24th Avenue (Main Street), Belton, TX 76513; 254.939.0806. The family will see visitors at the church prior to the service, starting at 1 pm.
