Earl Clifton Ogden, 89, died peacefully in the early morning hours of January 11, 2016, at home and surrounded by children and grandchildren.

Earl was born in Rusk, Texas on September 28, 1926. He was the fourth son of Edward Monroe Ogden and Pollie Frances McLeroy Ogden and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward and Pollie Ogden; his wife of 59 years, Eunice Elizabeth Smith Ogden. Also preceded by his daughter Polly Sue Ogden Proffer, four older brothers, William Farrington, Basil Dean, Harold Lynn and James Lawrence Ogden. He is survived by one son, Rick Ogden and wife, Charlotte, daughter, Sharon Johnson and husband Dwight, and daughter Pat Towery and also leaves behind, thirteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Earl grew up in East Texas and is the son of a Southern Baptist minister. He is a veteran of World War II. His greatest accomplishments are his relationship with God, the love for his wife and of his family and his love for his country.

Visitation will be held this Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX. 77060 followed by Services on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. and his final resting place next to his beloved Eunice at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
