Eddy Joe Scott, 84, of Conroe, Texas, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home. A memorial will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2727 North Loop 336, Conroe, Texas 77304, on Saturday, June 11 at 10 am. Reverend Dr. David Greene will be officiating. Eddy's ashes will be scattered in Elgin, Texas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church in Conroe.

Eddy was born February 10, 1932 in McDade, Texas to Otma and Evadene Scott. He graduated from Elgin High School and SWTSTU College, San Marcos. He attended St. Mary's School of Law, San Antonio. He worked his way up from petroleum landman at Texaco to Division Landman, relocating his family from Corpus Christi to Houston, to New York City and back to Houston. After 29 years at Texaco, he took early retirement, then joined Westland Oil Development Corporation in Montgomery, TX. Following Westland's bankruptcy, he served as President of the company until the owner's death. Later, he and Ted Ellison formed both Inter-continental Energy and Premier Petroleum. Eddy enjoyed spending time with family and friends most of all. He was active in his church, and was quite a golfer - he even made a hole in one! He liked to spend time tinkering around at his workbench on woodwork and household projects, and enjoyed watching Houston sports and napping in his Barcalounger - he was a great multi-tasker. He loved to don his tuxedo and take Marjorie, his lovely bride, dancing. He was a generous man who gave to numerous charitable organizations.

Eddy is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Marjorie Scott. He is also survived by his son, Derek Scott and his wife, Cindy Scott of Levelland, TX, and his daughter, Katy Calicchia and her husband Alex Calicchia of Houston TX. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jeff Scott of Buckholts, TX and Madison Calicchia of Houston, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eddy is preceded in death by his parents, Otma and Evadene Scott of Elgin, TX, his brother, Malcolm Scott of San Marcos, TX, niece Linda Scott of Dallas, Texas, and nephew Mark Sorenson of Graytown, TX.

The family wants to express our gratitude for the care given Eddy by the staff at Alpha Omega and at Seasons Hospice.
