Funeral Services for Edgar "Pete" Nathan Brooks, 71, of Conroe, Texas will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ray Hyden officiating. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Conroe Funeral Directors on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Pete was born on March 9, 1945 in Jackson County, Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph N. and Minnie E. (Cash) Brooks. He passed away peacefully on the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 into the loving arms of the Lord.

Pete was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica Theel. He is survived by his loving family: beloved wife, Mary; children, Kim Theel and husband, Jeff, Beth Harned and husband, Bryan, and Becky Klein and husband, Jason; Mikel Hoffart and wife, Lisa, Ina Murray and husband, Alan and and Paul Hoffart and wife, Melinda; sister, Susan Kronshage and husband, Bill; brother, J.D. Brooks and wife, Sulyane; grandchildren, Samantha Theel, Stacia Harned, Ally Harned, Taylor Klein, Kristen Hoffart, Casey Hoffart, Cody Murray, Billy Murray, Kyle Hoffart, Morgan Hoffart, Leann Hoffart, Ethan Hoffart and Carson Austin; great grandchildren, Kaelen Richardson, Gwenevere Richardson and Tate Murray; numerous other dear relatives and friends also survive.

Pallbearers will include: Mikel Hoffart, Paul Hoffart, Alan Murray, Jeff Theel, Bryan Harned and Jason Klein.

Pete was a patriotic, honorable man who loved his country and his family. After graduating from high school in Fargo, North Dakota, he joined the U.S. Navy and faithfully served three (3) tours of duty in Vietnam. Part of his service was aboard the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-4). Pete is deeply loved and his caring, compassionate ways will be dearly missed.
