(Dec 2, 1924 - Feb 7, 2013) -a resident of Heritage Oaks Memory Care in Conroe, TX. Eddie was a native of Campti, LA and resident of Shreveport, LA for over 50 years. Eddie was an active member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. He worked for the Kansas City Southern Lines for 48 years retiring in 1990 as the Director of Transportation Systems. Eddie fought in World War II in Europe serving in the Army's 739th Tank Battalion at the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. He was a devoted loving father with family and friends who will miss him. Eddie was a hunter and a fisherman but his real joy was his vegetable garden which he worked for many years.

He is survived by three sons; Ted Grappe, Jr. and wife Michelle of Shreveport, LA, David D. Grappe and wife Lisa of Montgomery, TX and Christopher A. Grappe and wife Tracey, of Montgomery, TX. His three grandchildren; Stephen M. Grappe and wife Savanna, Cody Grappe, and Ashlyn Grappe. His great grand-child Kaitlyn Grappe. He also leaves behind his sister Betty Watson of Shreveport along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Buford and Lola Grappe of Campti, LA and brothers Buford Jr. and Curtis Ray Grappe.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home on Monday Feb. 11, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM, located at 1201 Louisiana Ave., Shreveport, LA. Services will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church by Rev. Bill McBride on Tuesday Feb. 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM, located at 3301 St. Matthias Drive, Shreveport LA with a burial to follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport.
