The Guest Book is expired.

Elinor (Elly) went to sleep on February 12, 2018. She brightened this world on January 3, 1930. Preceding her in death was her Mother Gertrude (Gerry) Stander, her Father Samuel London, her beloved Step-Father Louis Stander, her Sons Dennis and Kenneth Colombo. Surviving her are her beloved former Daughter-in-law Leslie Brass of Spring. Her Son Rick Brass and his children Adam Brass, Evan Brass, Brittany Rehg, Rachel Brass, Jeremy Herron, and Trisha Herron. Her Daughter-in-law Kathy Colombo, and her, and Dennis' children Phillip Colombo, Andrew Colombo, Adam Colombo, Paul Colombo, and Sarah Casey all of Kansas City, and Kenny's daughter Beth Colombo of San Diego. Eighteen Great-grandchildren. Her closest friends in the world are Sorina Mocanu of Telluride, Susan Rose, Dorothy Kenner of New York, and Jim Field of Illinois, but there are uncountable other friends, cousins, extended family members, and acquaintances that have had their lives connected in some way to this remarkable human being. This network spans coast to coast and border to border. Special mention is due to the residents and staff at the Villages of the Woodlands at Waterway for their companionship, care and concern, and to Dr. Zhao and his staff at Conroe Cancer Center for their personal, emphatic, and professional treatment of her over the past sixteen months. The family wishes to acknowledge the patient, gracious, and tender care given by Adriana Camargo when it was needed most. Her dedication to making Elly's final days as comfortable as possible will never be forgotten. It is impossible in a few short paragraphs to convey the vast magnitude of this truly magnificent life that included travel to literally every corner of the world, living in New York City, Brussels Belgium, Telluride Colorado, Sarasota Florida, and The Woodlands Texas. Enjoying the finest experiences life has to offer, and accomplishing success in a tremendous variety of endeavors. Her career at Screen Actors Guild brought her in contact with, and created friendships with, many wonderful people in show business, James Cagney among them. Elly's 88 year journey on this earth was nothing short of a fireworks display done with spectacular elan and panache. Her passions were ballet, skiing, tennis, and Barbra Streisand. Hers was a life well lived, done her way, and she will remain alive in the hearts and minds of those of us she left behind all too soon. In lieu of flowers, donations to your chosen charity will be appreciated. There will be an "Arrivederci Elly" on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 2:30 p.m., at The Villages of the Woodlands at Waterway, 2323 Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands, Tx 77380 in the "Living Room",(downstairs). Join us won't you.
