Elizabeth "Betty" Josephine Reissig, 81, of Conroe, Texas passed away the afternoon of May 23, 2014 with her husband and nine children by her side.

Betty was born October 9, 1932, the daughter of the late Ray and Lorena Kitten of Slaton, Texas. On November 20, 1950 Betty married her first love and best friend, Jacob "Jake" Reissig. Jake and Betty enjoyed a strong marriage devoted to each other for almost 64 years. They have been extremely blessed and proud of the family legacy that they created together that includes nine children, seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Betty had the heart of a Mother and a never-ending, refined and graceful smile upon her face as she fully enjoyed her family. Betty will forever be remembered for her dedication to her husband, Jake, her commitment to her children, love of family and her faithfulness to the Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Jake Reissig, her children and their spouses; Gary and Katie Reissig of Austin, TX, Joe Reissig of Conroe, TX, Cindy and Butch Davis of Conroe, TX, Tracy Reissig of Montgomery, TX, Cheryl and Mark Keller of Montgomery, TX, Jeff and Carol Reissig of Montgomery, TX, Diane Remick of Montgomery, TX, Roger and Anne Reissig of Montgomery, TX, and David and Shana Reissig of Conroe, TX. Betty is also survived by her sister Mary Lou and Paul Mosser of Lubbock, TX, her sister Shirley and Eugene Bednarz of Slaton, TX, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many cousins and extended family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Kitten.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life beginning with visitation on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 and Rosary at 7:00 at Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe with visitation from 1:00-2:00 followed by Mass at 2:00pm. Betty's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her granddaughters will present the Offertory Gifts during Mass. Graveside service will immediately follow at Garden Park Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to return to Sacred Heart for a reception after graveside service.
