Elma Rosemary Conlin, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2013. She was born to Mary Williams and Roy Sarver in Bement, Illinois, on July 5, 1927. Rosemary was a 1948 graduate of Decatur Macon County School of Nursing, and began her career as a Registered Nurse practicing in Illinois and later in Louisiana, New Jersey, and Texas. After retiring, she was active in gardening and church activities where she sang in the choir and volunteered as a church librarian. She was a multi-talented artist and member of the Illinois Artisans Program where she showcased her talents of painting, heirloom sewing, silk ribbon embroidery, and numerous other arts and crafts. A loving, kind, gentle, and giving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, her life was spent focusing on family and serving God through her church membership at United Methodist Church in Illinois and Huntsville, Texas. Rosemary is preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Leroy Conlin of Houston, Texas, her parents, and brother, Carrroll Sarver of Monticello, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Pierce of The Woodlands, Texas, sons Mark Conlin and wife Liz of Montgomery, Texas, and Mike Conlin and wife Anna of Houston, Texas, sisters June Frederickson of Ridge Crest, California and Jane and Jody Sarver of The Villages, Florida, brothers Dean Sarver of Brownstown, Illinois, Don Sarver of Denver, Colorado, and Jeff Sarver of Rockford, Illinois, grandchildren Luke Conlin, Sean Conlin, Justin Conlin, Corey Conlin, Jason Pierce, and Amy Conlin, great grandchildren Kyra and Kaitlyn Conlin. The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at Unlimited Care for their compassion and loving care of Rosemary during the past 3 years. No service will be held locally as she will be taken to her home in Illinois to be laid to rest.
