Elsie Wright, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Park Manor in Conroe, where she had been a resident for the past 7 years. She lived with and managed diabetes for many years, enduring the past few on dialysis. She lived in Houston from an early age and retired in 2003 after working 25 years with food service for the Aldine Independent School District. Elsie spent most of those years at McArthur High School and the last few at Hambrick Jr. High. She had a green thumb and always had flourishing green plants to keep watered. She loved growing a vegetable garden and just spending time outdoors.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Wright; son, Charlie Ray Wright; parents, Daniel and Elsie Stout; sisters, Panina Stout, Lillian Leach, Loma Pierce and Fannie Mae Stout; and brothers, Johnie and Frankie Stout. She is survived by her son, Cleaon Wright and wife Betty of Conroe; daughter, Melissa Gallegos and husband Louis of Houston; son, Raymond B. Wright, Jr. of Houston; grandchildren, Dionna Shelby and husband Ron of Willis, Michael, Christopher, Alexis and Chrissy Gallegos of Houston, Angel Wright and fiancé Joshua Carrier of Shepherd and Jennifer McConnelee of Magnolia; 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Nellie Stout of Houston.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite. 115, Conroe, TX. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX.
