Emma Lois Davidson, 85, from Conroe died on November 29, 2012. She was born May 11, 1927 in Lolita, Texas. She was the fourth of five children to Effie Pearl and Boyd Darnell. Her parents moved Vanderbilt, Texas when she was very young. She went to school and graduated from Vanderbilt High School.

She met her first husband, J. P. Davidson, when she was fourteen. He asked her father if he could take her to dinner, and her daddy agreed. World War II started and J.P. joined the marines. They corresponded for three years while he was overseas. When he returned they got married. He developed diabetes and passed away in 1989, after battling the disease for many years.

After several years Lois met Vern Payne. They dated for about 10 years and then married in 2000. They had many cherished memories. He became ill and passed away on January 10, 2012.

Lois is survived by two sons and their wives, Jim & Judy Davidson and Bill & Kathy Davidson. She is also survived by three grandchildren - Tysher Turner, Trina Nelson & William Davidson; grand son-in-law, Steven Turner; four great grandchildren - Ashtin & James Turner, Allie & Savannah Nelson.

She has one surviving sister, Faye Smith. Faye lives in Ashburn, Virginia with her son, Sam Collins and his wife, Khane.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Effie & Boyd Darnell; by husbands, J.P. Davidson and Vern Payne; and by three brothers, Royce, Presley & Raymond and his wife, Mary.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00PM Monday at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Conroe. The interment will be 1:00PM Wednesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Edna Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church, Conroe.
