Graveside services for Mr. Ernie Chance will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 2:00p.m. at Wortham Cemetery in Wortham with U.S. Army Honors. Bro. Scott Matthews will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Thursday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Chance passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the Fairfield Nursing and Rehab Center in Fairfield. He was born in Farrar, TX on July 31, 1920, and moved around a lot as he grew up mostly in Limestone and Freestone Counties. He attended high school in Wortham and was a member of the Bulldogs football team. Mr. Chance served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He worked for Gray Tool Co. for over thirty-seven years in Houston. Mr. Chance married Patsy on November 12, 1974, and shared over forty years together. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and dancing. Mr. Chance was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Chance of Teague; two sons, Ernest Ray Chance & wife Gayla of Shore Acres, TX, and Billy Ray Elizondo of Tomball; four daughters, Gloria Levee and husband Roy, Susan Nolan & husband Jim, Judy Peters, and Betty Newsom & husband Gilpin all of Conroe; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Chance was preceded in death by one son, Mike Chance; his parents, James & Dora Chance; one brother, Alton Lauderdale; and two sisters, Oma Miller and Onita Tackett.
