Ethel Virginia Rollins Broussard, born February 27, 1916 in Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hugh Broussard and seven siblings. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy V. Broussard, of Lexington, Kentucky. She also leaves four children; two sons, Dr. James H. Broussard (Margaret) of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Thomas R. Broussard (Mollie) of New York City and two daughters, Nancy A. Leonard (Dave) of Stamping Ground, KY and Dorothy B. Bell (Mike) of Elephant Butte, NM. There are also five grandchildren, Dr. Rebecca Andrews, Michael Andrews, Roger Bell (Dr. Angela), Jerry Bell and David Broussard (Sophie), and three great grandchildren, Charlotte Bell and Elsa and Samuel Broussard.

Mrs. Broussard was a graduate of Sophie Newcomb College. She had lived in Southside Place for more than 20 years were she was active in St. Mark's Episcopal Church and in scouting. After moving to Panorama Village, Texas in 1964, she was equally active at St. James Episcopal Church in Conroe, Texas. She moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 2004. She contributed countless hours as a volunteer for any effort or organization that needed her and for several years visited public schools lecturing about native wild flowers.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Garden Park Cemetery.
