Evelyn Marie Oppenheim Sellers, 93, passed away peacefully at her Conroe home on February 20, 2018. Visitation will be held from 6-8 at Cashner Funeral Home on Friday, February 23. A celebration of her life will be at 10am on Saturday, February 24 , at the Conroe Church of Christ with Steve Yates presiding.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert (Bob) Sellers, her parents and her two brothers, Phillip Sol Oppenheim and Ben H. Oppenheim, Jr.

Evelyn was born on September 15, 1924 in Norfolk, VA to Ben H. and Marie Evelyn Oppenheim. The family moved to Waco in 1936 where Evelyn attended Waco schools and graduated from Waco High in 1943. She attended 4 C College in Waco. Evelyn went on a blind date where she met the love of her life, Bob Sellers. They married on June 7, 1947. Bob and Evelyn moved to Conroe in 1949, where Bob served as the accountant for Newton Oil Company. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for the Ford Motor Company in Conroe until 1952, when they started their family.

Since 1949, Evelyn has been an active member of the Conroe Church of Christ, where she taught Bible Class for more than 40 years. When Bob started Sellers Bookkeeping and Tax Service, Evelyn became his bookkeeper. Evelyn supported Bob in his business, as a church Elder, as a Conroe City Councilman and Police Commissioner. Evelyn served as a Girl Scout leader and as President of the InterNos club, a Conroe women's social/service organization. She was a loving, sacrificial and patient mother and "Granny Girl."

She is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Sherry Sellers Vinson and her husband Tom of Houston, Sandy Sellers Cawley and her husband Mark of Conroe and her son, Rob Sellers and his wife, Shelli of Robinson, TX. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Curtis, and his wife Laquita, Logan and Meredith Sellers, Christopher, Christen, Bryan and Michael Cawley and nieces Shirley Lyman, Linda Stallard, Debbie Griffin and Nancy Oppenheim.

The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers, Michele Jones and Carol Warren.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and sons-in-law, Curtis Sellers, Logan Sellers, Christopher Cawley, Bryan Cawley, Michael Cawley, Mark Cawley and Tom Vinson.
