Faye McLeroy Nettles left behind the chains that bound her in this life as she entered the gates of Heaven and rushed to the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior. The Lord called her home on her 90th birthday, July 5, 2012. He called her to her New Life that is free of pain and suffering. Waiting for her upon her arrival were her precious mother and father as well as her 6 sisters and 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews. What a wonderful sight that must have been as the McLeroy family reunited.

Those of us left behind grieve her loss, but treasure the memories that each of us have of her. Her children, Willa Nettles Brown, Jan Nettles Smith and Larry Nettles will smile as they "Rise up and call her Blessed." To her six grandchildren, Christin Brown Gilkeson, Scott Brown, Andy Brown, Cory Smith, Josh Smith, and Jody Smith she was an inspiration and source of strength, not to mention a million laughs! Her 14 great grandchildren thought she was just about the coolest Mammaw around. Several of the little ones, and the two that are on the way, will get to know her through the stories and memories of their parents and older siblings. We will tell all! Connor, Rachele and Olivia Gilkeson; Austin and Tyler Brown; Alyssa and Katy Brown; Grace, Hope, Reeve and Brynne Smith; Bella and Jude Smith; and Emma Smith will always hold Mammaw near and dear to their hearts as they learn about her love and devotion to the family she loved so much. She loved her children and hand-picked their mates for life: Sam and Willa have been married for 44 years, Jan and Cary for 39 years! She said..."for life!" All of her Grands are married, and she attended each wedding wearing a grin as she gave her approval of their choices. She joyfully welcomed Tom Gilkeson, Alison Brown, Lisa Brown, Hannah Smith, Bethany Smith and Victoria Smith into her heart and family!

So what's left to say....volumes, but this will do for now. Her story is still being written because she has influenced so many lives in the 90 years she walked this earth. The circle is growing bigger each day.

Come celebrate this wonderful life with her family on Monday, July 9th at 10:00AM at Metcalf Funeral Home, Conroe TX, but make sure you are wearing something green because this lovely lady will want to see her favorite color! The viewing, better known as the time with family, will be held on Sunday, July 8th from 7:00-9:00PM at Metcalf. Family is coming from Anchorage, Alaska; Westminster, California; Washington DC; and South Carolina to gather for laughter, tears, and memories. We hope you will join us. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, Texas, at 2:00 p.m.
