Frances Ann Bell Froelich, "Honey" to her grandchildren, was born in Hermann Hospital, Houston, TX on Feb. 5, 1932. She left this earth Oct. 9, 2011, to go be with the Lord and "liven up" heaven. She attended West University Elementary, Pershing Junior High, Lamar Senior High '49, and the University of Houston, where she met her beloved husband of 60 years, James Eugene Froelich, Jr. They married seven months after they met!

She leaves behind her three wonderful children and spouses: Ann and husband Keith Bice, Dr. James E. Froelich, III and wife Deidre, Kelly Froelich & wife Lori; six loving grandchildren: David Zillweger, Jr., Nicole and husband Morgan Priolo, James Clifford "J.C." Froelich and wife Julie, Deidre Anne Froelich, William J. "Will" Froelich and wife Megan, Lindsey Froelich and fiancé Connor Humphrey; and two great-grandsons: Joshua Priolo and Luke Froelich. She leaves her sister, Barbara Lewis and "other daughter," niece Amy Robinson; nephews: Michael Bell, Hugh Bell, Derick Bonewitz, and John Bonewitz, and nieces: Liz Jones, Anna Merrick Bonewitz, and Julie Margules.

She has lived a charmed life. She traveled to 86 countries and made exotic excursions including crossing Siberia by train, visiting Easter Island and flying over Antarctica. She was introduced to genealogy in 1988 and with that, the passion of a lifetime. For the next twenty years, she discovered her roots and much more.

Frances is a 12th-generation American, and she belonged to Presidential Families of America, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Alexander Love Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames 17th Century, Jamestown Society, and several other hereditary societies. She worked tirelessly to advance every one of these societies and taught scores of people the science of genealogy.

Her pride and joy has been her children and grandchildren. She says, "Don't cry for me - celebrate all the fun we had - my family and all my friends. God needs me in heaven, and I am prepared to go be united with my parents, Ralph & Minnie Pearl Bell, and brother, Tom Bell. I leave my love to each and every one of you, especially the love of my life, my husband Jim."

Pallbearers will be her four grandsons and two nephews: David Zillweger, Jr., J.C. Froelich, Will Froelich, Morgan Priolo, Michael Bell, and Eric Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Bell, Joel Robinson, Derick Bonewitz, John Bonewitz, and Joe Marr. Frances left a special, final note, "To my pallbearers, thanks for carrying me to my final resting place. I'll be waiting for you all in heaven. Now, to all my family and friends, go in peace, and remember me with a smile. I'll have my phone with me."

Her visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, and services will be held Friday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Houston, TX.

In lieu of flowers, Frances requested that donations be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 4742 N. 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016, or the Alexander Love Chapter DAR.
