Frances Marian Simmons Wadsworth, 93, of The Woodlands, TX passed away peacefully November 8, 2012.

Marian was born December 25, 1918 in Florida where she graduated from Deland High School. She attended Ringling College of Art and Design before moving to New York where she graduated from Parsons School of Design. She then taught at Stephens College and attended the University of Missouri where she met and married her husband, Francis Thomas Wadsworth. While in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Marian graduated from McNeese College with degrees in English. Following graduation, she taught English at McNeese.

She was active in the Methodist Church in the cities where she and Francis resided. At the time of her death, Marian was a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church. She was also a member of P.E.O. and various other organizations and craft groups.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Matthew and Charlotte Simmons, her husband Francis Thomas Wadsworth, her daughter Charlotte Ann Stokes, and her sister Geraldine Thompson.

She is survived by her son, Matt Wadsworth and wife Becky, her son Tom Wadsworth and wife Debby, and son-in-law Bill Stokes all of The Woodlands; six grandchildren, William Stokes and wife Lisa, Katherine Hamilton and husband Bill, Thomas Wadsworth and wife Ellen, Tyler Wadsworth, Brian Wadsworth and Kristin Wadsworth; six great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Parker Stokes, Joseph and Sara Hamilton, and Madeline and Charlotte Wadsworth.

A service will be at 4:00 PM Sunday, November 11, 2012 in The Woodlands United Methodist Church chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date at The Forum at The Woodlands where she resided.
