Fredrick William Hake, 83, of Montgomery, TX, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, Feb 6, 2015. Fred was born Feb 17, 1931 in the small farming town of Hoyleton, Illinois to Lawrence and Edith Brink Hake.

Fred served in the US Navy during the Korean War stationed in Pensacola, FL, teaching instrument flight. He joined NASA in Houston, TX in 1963 where he worked until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating on the lake, traveling, and especially, spending time with the Veterans' group at 105 Storage in Conroe, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Edith Hake, sisters Cathryn Mahan and Dorothy Hake, one brother Wilford Hake, and one grandson, Ryan Hake.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Hake, daughter and son-in-law Vicky and Bob Baccus, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Susan Hake; granddaughters Brandee, Kaitlyn, and Jennifer Hake, brother and sister-in-law LD and Marilyn Hake of California, and nieces and nephews Ron Hake, Cheri Taylor, Sandy Connelly, Betty Stahl, Linda Wimberly, Roger Mahan, David Mahan, and Robert Mahan, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thurs, Feb 12 at 2:00 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, TX. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the .
