Gary D. Cheshire age 65, died peacefully with his wife at his side on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Summer Meadows Nursing Facility in Longview, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gracy Heineike Cheshire; his daughter, Amy Cheshire; his son Christopher Cheshire; his youngest daughter Amanda Kate Watson, three grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Joyce Chatham Cheshire, brothers, David Cheshire, Patrick Cheshire and his son-in-law David Grant Watson.

Gary was born and raised in Montgomery, Texas; the son of Robert W. Cheshire and Joyce Chatham Cheshire. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1968. He attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas. He worked forty years for ExxonMobil and retired in 2010. He started his career in 1971 in Big Wells, Texas and for thirty-six years he lived with his family in South Texas. It was in the last ten years he moved to Longview with his family.

Gary was a man of faith, he acknowledged God and he raised his family to honor God. He was a kind husband and father. He loved his family and his friends. He also loved the oilfield and enjoyed the work he did for ExxonMobil. He loved college football, enjoyed deer hunting and always loved to socialize with family and friends.

Visitation is on Wednesday, February 4th from 5-8 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery Texas. Graveside services will take place Thursday, 2 pm on February 5th at Copeland Chapel Cemetery, on Copeland Chapel Road, Montgomery, Texas.
