George Wayne Huber passed away on May 10, 2017 in Denton, TX, at the age of 88, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1929, in Eddy, Texas and lived in Conroe for over 44 years. Preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Wilma Maedgen Huber, and his loving wife, Helen Jander Huber of 52 years. Wayne is survived by two daughters; Cindy Waters and husband Wayne of Montgomery, TX, Sherri McKinney and husband Kevin of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Tristin Dodd and Felicia Badger of Conroe, TX, Taylor McKinney of Englewood, CO and Katie McKinney of Denton, TX; great grandchildren Olivia and Peyton Dodd, and Natalie Maldonado of Conroe, TX. Wayne attended Waco High School and then became a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He then attended John Tarleton State University and Baylor University where he graduated with the Class of 1952.

Wayne's career in the oil industry included tenure at Sinclair Oil, Tretolite Chemicals, Baker Chemical, and Champion Chemicals. Opening then with his beloved wife, Red Arrow Freight Lines in Conroe where they worked together to own and operate the Freight Lines for 15 years. Wayne retired from the chemical business but continued to sell pumps and supplies until his death. Wayne was known by his friends and neighbors for his warm smile and open heart and always enjoyed assisting others and going to lunch with various friends to Vernon's Kuntry Katfish in Conroe. Wayne was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored him as he adored them.

Wayne continued to attend First United Methodist Church in Conroe after the passing of his wife, Helen where they have been members for many years.

Graveside Services for the family were held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 12:00 PM in Waco, TX with Mulkey-Bowles Funeral Home of Denton, TX officiating and under the direction of Rosemound Cemetery where he will join his wife and both their parents. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the First United Methodist Church Conroe, TX or to the .
