"When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure."

Surrounded by family and friends, George Wayne (G.W.) Purvis, lost his valiant five year battle with cancer on Monday, October 27, 2014. He was born in Waller, Texas on May 17, 1943 to William & Mildred Purvis. George devoted his life to being an incomparable provider for his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, supportive friend, and co-worker.

After working in the petrochemical industry for 50 years, George enjoyed fishing on Texas lakes in his prized bass boat and riding his Cushman scooter around Lake Conroe. For 48 years, George shared his life with his devoted wife, Pat and was the proud father of Jeffrey Wayne Purvis and Jody Loza. In December 2011, he became the happiest grandfather to the highlight of his life, Owen Loza.

A celebration of George's life is planned for the future. For those wishing to send a memorial, donations may be sent to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, 2914 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204, online at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/donations/ or to the .
