Glenn Jesse Egly went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 20, 2016.

Glenn was born on July 9, 1922 in Bloomington, Illinois. During WWII he served as Store Keeper First Class in the US Navy. He returned state side to Houston, Texas. He was introduced to Margaret Clifton and married on September 29, 1945. They made their home in Houston and had two sons Richard and Robert (Bob). Glenn retired from Gulf Oil Corporation on July 31, 1982 after 36 years of service and built a home in Dobbin, Texas. Margaret passed away on December 31, 1986.

Glenn married Louise Brown on June 4, 1988. Glenn and Louise enjoyed traveling and entertaining with family and church friends. Louise passed away on September 29, 2006.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Jesse & Ida Egly, siblings Alice Jochums, Lois York, Arthur Egly, Harriet Hewitt, Dorothy Garner, Clara Bounds, Marian Zerkle, and Alan Egly.

Survived by sons Richard (Caris) Egly & Robert (Jennifer) Egly and stepchildren Barbara (Tom) Hargrove Sr & Robert (Debra) Brown; grandchildren Andrew Egly & Joshua Egly; Jacob (Troy) Egly & Jenna Egly; step grandchildren Tom Jr (Rhonda) Hargrove, Jeff (Laura) Hargrove & Christi (Justin) Evans; Melissa Brown; step great grandchildren Darbey, Mackenzie, Rex, Fisher, Adeline, Braxtin, Adix, Ashley & Dylan.

While Glenn had heart health issues he remained highly active throughout his life. He worked on his property in Dobbin and actively served in Dacus Baptist Church and the Dobbin-Montgomery community.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd 6-8 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas. Funeral Services officiated by close family friend, Bobby Hill will be held in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Montgomery Texas on Wednesday, August 24th at 10 am, with graveside services at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, Texas at 2 pm with no processional.
