Gloria Dean Hail Phillips, 78, of Conroe, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Conroe Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 1 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion in Coleman, Texas. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.

Gloria was born May 27, 1934 in Lamesa but grew up and attended school in Coleman. She had lived in Conroe for many years.

In earlier years she loved her Cut 'n Shoot Ladies Extension Club, serving as secretary. She retired from the State of Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

In her last months, while she lived at Esperanza Assisted Living in Conroe, she always looked forward to being with her friends and those who took care of her, especially Tonya. She loved going to her church home First United Methodist Church in Conroe. Gloria enjoyed being with her family and everyone being together. She had a wonderful laugh that came from deep within her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton Phillips of Conroe; two daughters, Toni Shields and husband Ricky of Snyder, Connie Boggs and husband Rex of Eastland; one son, Eddie Phillips and wife Yvette of Conroe; one sister, Bobbie Edington of Coleman; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Service held Saturday, June 9 at 5:30 pm at Northridge Baptist Church in Conroe.
