Gloria Margaret Knutson, 76, went home to be with the Lord on the 20th of January 2012. She is survived by her husband, Jim Knutson; son, Mark Knutson and wife Barbara of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Jill Knutson and husband Milo Doebber of Houston; and son, Blake Knutson of Tyler, as well as six grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by brothers, Charles Moore and wife Billie Sue of Deberry, Texas; and David Moore and wife Harlan of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and brother-in-law Chuck Knutson and wife Penny of Houston.

Gloria was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana on April 5, 1935, to parents William and Nora Moore. She graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1953 and moved to Houston to work as a secretary. After working for a while, Gloria decided that office work was not for her. She joined TWA as an airline stewardess and was stationed in Los Angeles, California. In 1958 she and Jim were married in Manhattan Beach, California.

In her younger days, Gloria was an avid tennis player who won a number of trophies in competitive tournaments. She was also a devout Christian with a sunshiny disposition.

Friends and cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday the 24th of January from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Metcalf Funeral Home, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX. Funeral service will follow on Wednesday, 2:00 PM at the Metcalf Chapel. Rev. Buddy Miller will be officiating with a private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family request, with gratitude, that contributions in Gloria's name be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
