Harold Robert (Bob) Shubrook, age 82, passed away peacefully in Conroe, Texas on May 24, 2012. He was born on June 15, 1929 in Upland, Pennsylvania. He is with his beloved wife of 57 years, Doris Lorraine Shubrook and his granddaughter, Carly Lorraine McCulloch, who preceded him in death.

Bob enlisted in the Air Force as a young man and served his country for over twenty-one years. During this time, he spent time in Germany, Oklahoma, Bermuda, Texas, and Panama. Towards the end of his military career, he became a NCO and Officer's Club Manager, which prepared him for his second career as a Country Club Manager. During his 13-plus years as a Country Club Manager, he managed clubs in Texas, Oklahoma, and California. Bob had a knack for understanding the needs of all his members while being one of the fairest and caring employers that you would ever want to meet.

Bob became a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge at the Broad Arrow Lodge #1890 G.R.E., Hamilton, Bermuda. He was awarded his 50 year pin in 2007.

Bob was an avid golfer, lover of all things motor sports, particularly NASCAR. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, loved feeding and watching the birds on his patio, from the comfort of his favorite chair. He never met anyone he wouldn't talk to and loved to playfully mess with people which never failed to bring a smile to their faces. He has spent the last thirteen years making friends all over the Conroe and Willis areas of Texas. He was known and loved by many more people than he will ever know.

Harold R. Shubrook is survived by his three adult children; Bruce Shubrook and wife, Donna, Mark Shubrook and wife, Kim and Diane Stockbridge; four grandchildren; Wyatt McCulloch II and wife Lauren, Samantha Shubrook, Sara Shubrook, Ashton Black and husband Craig, and one great grandchild, Kaydence Black.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Chocolate Passion located at 1520 North Frazier Street, Conroe, TX 77301. We will toast Bob and the impact he had on so many lives with his favorite foods and beverages.

The family would like to thank the Odyssey Hospice for their kind and loving care during Bob's brief stay. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Odyssey Hospice, 233 I-45, Conroe, Texas 77304 or online at www.gentivahospicefoundation.org.
