Harold T. Peklewsky passed away suddenly at his home in Conroe on August 16, 2017. Harold was born on January 18, 1937, in Great Falls, Montana, of Canadian parents. He was the youngest son of John J. and Pearl Louise Slight Peklewsky and was a proud first-generation American. Harold attended school in Montana and graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, with a degree in Engineering. He served his country in the Navy, assigned to the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Essex, and receiving an honorable discharge in 1957. Harold married Mary Ann Morgenroth Walker in Great Falls on May 20, 1966, and they spent more than 50 wonderful years together before her death a few months ago. His career as an engineer with American Can Company led them from Texas to Wisconsin, Illinois, and finally to California. After 25 years, Harold retired from American Can Company but early retirement was not to his liking so he accepted a similar position with Nabisco Brands. A few years later, Harold was truly ready to retire so he and Mary returned to Conroe in 1996. He remained a lifetime member of the Great Falls Elks Club and he and Mary were members of the Montgomery Country Genealogical & Historical Society. Harold enjoyed fishing and gardening. He grew luscious lemons in his backyard and shared them generously with family and friends. He liked taking long walks through the neighborhood, playing bingo several times each week, and playing with his cat, Jake. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife. Although Harold and Mary had no children, he adored Mary's son and daughter from her first marriage. He is survived by Michael Walker and Sheryl Ann Gray, both of Pampa, as well as Sheryl's two sons and three grandchildren; his brother, John Peklewsky and wife, Collyn, of Lakeside, Montana; niece Stacey Holliday and husband, Sean, and their two daughters, Caitlin and Taylor, of Tyler; niece Tori White and husband, Nathan, of Ronan, Montana; their son, Chris Wallace and wife, Alicia, and daughter, Addalyn, of Kodiak, Alaska; their daughter, Jenna Wallace, of Cave Creek, Arizona; their son, Joshua White, of Wichita, Kansas; and their daughter, Tacara White and her daughters, Marissa and Keira, of Corpus Christi; his sister-in-law, Sue Morgenroth Hereford, of Conroe; niece Suann Hereford and husband, Shane Dulin, of Montgomery; nephew John Hereford and fiancée, Laurie O'Brien, of Huntsville; and cousin Darlene Jurich and husband, Frank, from Cascade, Montana.
