Harry Eugene "Gene" Curry of Willis, Texas was born January 1, 1924 in Udall, Kansas, passed away April 3, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. Gene was a decorated WWII Veteran receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was member of First Christian Church, Conroe, Texas and co-founder of Hug-A-Bear ministry. He was a professional Engineer for over 50 years.

Gene is survived by his loving family, daughter: Brenda Hartman and husband Steve, and daughter: Lugene Curry; son: Wally "Buster" Moore and wife Anita; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00pm Friday at Metcalf Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday at First Christian Church. A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers Contributions can be made to First Christian Church Conroe Hug-A-Bear.
