Helen Marie (Charley) Aden left this world Thursday evening after 96 wonderful years to join in the biggest birthday celebration for Jesus that exists-in heaven on December 19, 2013. She loved Christmas. Can you imagine the party she will attend this year?

Helen was born February 24, 1917, in Humble, Texas. She was the oldest of four sisters and grew up primarily in Huntsville, Texas, where she graduated from high school and subsequently attended three years of college. She was an accomplished businesswoman before many women attempted or contemplated careers. She enjoyed numbers and math and was passionate about using those skills in her favorite pass time, dominoes. And she liked to win! Her niece and nephews honed their math and reasoning skills playing dominoes with her, often at Christmas. She loved the Lord and all the old Christian hymns in his honor. She sung in the choir in her youth and was singing "In the Garden" on Monday!

Helen married her husband, Julius (Jute) Aden on June 23, 1944, and they lived in San Antonio, Texas, where she worked as an office manager until retiring to Kingsland, Texas, to enjoy the nice weather and play more dominoes. After his passing, she moved to Conroe to be near family. "Sister" and "Aunt Sister" as she was known to her family will be remembered for her joyous Christmas celebrations, her love and gift of music, her generosity to her family, her enjoyment of ice cream and candy and, of course, her dominoes.

Helen is survived by her loving sister, Flora Traylor and husband, R.M. Traylor III of Conroe, Texas, her niece Denise Traylor of Houston, her nephews Richard Traylor of New Waverly and Doug, Jack and Robert Cornett of Blessing, Texas, along with their spouses and children, including her many great nephews and great nieces that will hopefully carry on her love of the Lord, His music, and His gifts. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Julius L. Aden, her parents, Flora and Stewart Parnell Charley, and her loving sisters, Dorothy Cornett and Lucille Corgey.

The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the Conroe Meals on Wheels team, Helen's neighbors and the caretakers and aids at The Hampton Tanglewood and Brookdale Hospice who helped make her last days comfortable. Instead of flowers and other remembrances, the family requests that contributions be made, in her honor, to Pathways for Little Feet (www.pathwaysforlittlefeet.org) or to the .
